To spend time with Richard meant knowing Richard the prankster 🤣. You had to make sure your pants were tight around him or you would have your underpants exposed, as it happened to Allister Wood a few times. I definitely was wise to his mischief but would often get caught by surprise as it happened in this picture, for some reason we ended up doing some waltzing in the park during one of our church's park picnics. I almost lost my pants but caught them in time.

I remember the church picnics, uncle Richard would call me for every church picnic to make sure I was going to be part of it. He truly loved me and made sure I had enough food. I’ve never had someone who checked on me my life my career my health like he did.
He has mentored me from when I was 17 until his last few days before he was gone. My life in business is such a blessing because he has ensured that I am connected to most if not all his business associates.
He is one man I know is so proud of me.
I will never forget how when he came to my offices he will guide me through new business opportunities and still make sure I get the business deal still go as far as making sure I had enough funds to run my Anglo American and Transnet Projects successfully and with pride.
I always feel like I awe him my entire life. He has made me a good and very strong woman.
